Back in May, we shared rumors about what to expect for the upcoming iPhone 15 series. We discussed models, features, cost and a potential release date. With Apple’s highly anticipated announcement date coming soon, here’s everything we know about their release event, when you’ll be able to order an iPhone 15, and more.

When will Apple’s keynote event occur?

All signs point to a September date for launch! Rumors predict Tuesday, September 12th or Wednesday, September 13th for Apple’s event.

What are the official iPhone 15 model names and sizes?

The iPhone 15 lineup will once again include “high end” and “lower end” models with two size options for each. This includes two 6.1 inch models (iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro) and two 6.7 inch models (iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max). That being said, there is speculation that iPhone 15 could be slightly larger at 6.2.”

What other iPhone 15 features will be discussed?

In our previous rumors post, we mentioned Apple embracing the USB-C charging and ditching the lightning port. Apple has confirmed this change would come eventually, and it looks like it is officially happening.

The Dynamic Island is also likely coming to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. This means the pill-shaped area on the iPhone would not only have the camera hardware, but also serve as a shape-changing hub for alerts and notifications.

A recent rumor swirling around is Apple will change the name of the iPhone 15 Pro Max to iPhone 15 Ultra. This could make sense; given that Apple has recently used “Ultra” in other names like Apple Watch Ultra and Apple M2 Ultra chipset. Changing the name may better reflect the spec differences between the iPhone 15 Pro and the Pro Max.

As for colors, we mentioned in our previous post that a dark red color might be an option for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. Additional sources back this claim so it seems likely. Pink, blue and green options for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus is also reported as well.

Some additional speculations we’re seeing are bigger batteries across the entire lineup, a return to the curved edge design, smaller/slimmer bezels around the Pro iPhone 15 models, a periscope camera for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and upgraded cameras.

When can I order an iPhone 15?

iPhone release dates are typically on Fridays a week and a half after Apple announces new devices, so we can expect the release date to possibly be Friday, September 22nd. We'll know for sure once Apple officially unveils its new phone lineup.
